Rainbows

I’m proud of this photo.

I’ll admit, the crane that cuts the rainbow in half is annoying and unwanted, however, when I captured this scene over a year ago  I was secretly so pleased with myself. After taking it I would admire the rainbow, and the beauty of its spectrum of colour. However now, I absorb the whole scene with longing. That day in Como, when the clouds were lined with an imminent thunderstorm was so magical. I remember how the sun filtered its way through the grey and basked the rooftops  in a golden light, creating a rainbow that seemed to tentatively follow us through the winding streets and the piazza of the city.

During exam season, when stress and worry stalk my every move, sometimes it’s nice to just gaze at a picture and remember a past day, in a past life that seems so distant. Even with only two weeks until I leave for Italy, my mind is suffocated with revision and I can only dream longingly of returning to the blissful state of that spring day in Como.
